Comic Cast
I believe in giving credit where credit is due. Here in no particular order are the characters of the comic. Thank you to each person who inspired them for letting me use and abuse their good humour!
Medic: The lovable soft-hearted (and pacifist) heroine of the comic. She is obsessed with ambulances and loves to (harmlessly) prank the Zombies.
Joe Zombie: Joe was the inspiration for generic zombies in the original drawings. He is a hip-with the times Z, known for being in the right place, at the right time. Joe Zombie is a member of the Heartless.
Ashitaka: Ashitaka (Ash) is a member of the Guardians of Tomorrow. He’s one cool survivor rarely getting rattled.
Chompy: Chompy is the silent Zombie and perhaps the most innocent.. when he’s not eatting. He has no guild affiliation, but tends to hang around the Heartless, we think for scraps.
Degrifter: The leader of the Guardians of Tomorrow. Cool, militaristic and strong. Degrifter is always thinking about his guild mates well being, he is never ‘off duty’.
DJ Rekuf: When DJs are turned into zombies, you get rather.. sound crazed beings. DJ Rekuf is the musical master of the bunch, and has pretty good tastes for something with no tastebuds. He is often seen with a variety of musical instruments.
Ed Jones: Ed is a co-leader of the Heartless, so much as they can think. Known best as the ‘Scottish’ zombie, he is also one of the Z’s Medic likes to pick on, and vice versa. He is intelligent and witty and enjoys others stupidity. He has no qualms with snacking on survivors in public.
Faceless1: One of Medic’s best friends, he’s insightful, quiet and often unseen, but always watching. No one knows what he looks like under that hood , though many believe Medic does. He is a member of the Guardians of Tomorrow.
Lostanos: Arr! Lostanos is the resident pirate - even though he hates it, Medic hid his keys from the costume house and never lets him change. He is often dragged out along on Medic’s missions. he is a member of the Guardians of Tomorrow.
Nephrito: Death didn’t stop this one from being business minded. Always looking for ways to improve himself and his friends, Nephrito is a wheeler and dealer through and through. He is a member of the Heartless.
Nirium: Though he’s not a child, Medic has taken to Nirium as her little brother. He’s playful and loving, and holds a sweet innocence about him. He’s often seen as a trouble maker, but his pranks are always harmless fun. Nirium has a strange phenomenon of losing his pants after the first frame.
Recklessnative: The resident singing heartthrob and musical sensation, Recklessnative is a free flying spirit who often serenades the comics as a storyteller. Medic is a big fan of his.
Redguy: Often accused of being Sprite’s “Dot”, Redguy is a jazzy cool cat survivor.
